Advocate

As people of faith, we believe we are called to serve creation and seek justice for all people. You provide hope by speaking up. Because of your congregation, displaced people will be welcomed and a global impact will be made. Your congregation’s voice will join many other congregations to do what is right and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God.

  • Host a Refugees Welcome Event:
As the world seeks solutions to the largest refugee crisis since the end of World War II, we are called to action for peace and acceptance in solidarity with refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants. Event resources provide all the tools your congregation needs to host an event and share refugee experiences with faith and community groups.
  • CROP Hunger Walk Advocacy:
At your local CROP Hunger Walk, you can participate in an offering of letters to show that you are a hunger voter as well as a hunger walker. Sign the letter and CWS will deliver it to your representative in DC. Take a photo of yourself and tweet it to your US senators and CWS will retweet your social media advocacy.
  • Speak Out with Refugees and Immigrants:
Your story as a congregation member, faith leader, refugee, or supporter of refugee resettlement is your most important qualification as an advocate. Advocacy toolkits equip congregations to tell policymakers that constituents care about refugees, immigrants, and the local communities where they thrive.
